Search Engine Optimization for Quick Results

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

A Web business will live or die according to the number of people who visit their sites.  Just as a store cannot stay in business if it does not have clients coming through its doors, someone that is involved in Internet marketing is also similarly out of luck if they fall into the same situation.  That is why it is important to make sure that you have plenty of traffic coming to your website on regular basis.  One of the best ways to do this which also happens to be free is through search engine optimization.

Many people consider search engine optimization or SEO to be something that is very difficult to do.  To be sure, it is not something that somebody can just pick up overnight but there are some basic things that can be done that make a difference in your rankings in the search engine.  As long as you keep taking care of the basics, you can simply expound on them in order to help your rankings with the search engines.  The most important thing is that you do not try to cut any corners or to make it too difficult for you to do.  Make a schedule and stick to it and you will be happy with the results.

At the very core of any SEO efforts are incoming links.  Yes, making sure that your pages themselves are optimized for particular keywords is also important but you can rank for keywords that are not even on your webpage if you position your incoming links properly.  Acquiring these links, however, can be something that is relatively difficult to do.  That is, of course, unless you know a few shortcuts that you can take.

You can spend all the time that you want trying to get incoming links from authority websites in your particular niche.  Unfortunately, they simply do not come easy and it may actually come at a very high price.  You can get links to your website that will matter a lot as far as your search engine positioning is concerned through other means.  Submitting unique articles to the article directories and including a link back to your website is one of these ways.  You can also offer to write a unique article for one of the authority sites in exchange for a link back to your own.

One easy way to get incoming links to your website that will propel you toward the top of the search engine results is to use Web 2.0 websites.  This includes everything from social bookmarking to building pages and blogs on websites such as blogger or Squidoo.  Build as many of these as you can and interlink them in such a way that it creates a natural looking linking pattern and then link back to your website from some of the more popular pages.  You would be surprised at how quickly this will increase your search engine rankings.

Using JV Giveaway Events to Build Your List

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

One of the more popular ways of building your list nowadays has to do with giving something away for free.  There are many different ways in which you could do this, most of which involve enticing your website visitors to sign up for your list in the hopes of downloading some interesting information.  Of course that information resides just on the other side of your Web form.  For some, this works quite well but for others, they may have a difficulty compiling a large list because of a lack of traffic.  That is where the JV giveaway event comes in handy.  You can piggyback on the traffic that is generated by other marketers in order to build your list in a short period of time.

The concept behind the JV giveaway is actually fairly simple to understand.  A group of marketers, all with a common theme band together in order to send traffic to one particular website where free offers will be listed.  The more traffic that you send to this particular website, the higher you will be ranked on that website.  For those that grab the top position, they can receive a massive amount of traffic to their website that will gladly offer their e-mail address in return for the free information that they have available.  What about those at the bottom of the list?

Even if you are just starting out in your Internet marketing efforts, it will be possible for you to send traffic to this site in one form or another.  How can you accomplish this?  There are several different marketing methods that you can use in order to drive traffic to a website relatively quickly.  These methods include such things as video marketing, article marketing and viral marketing.  You may also be able to use services like Squidoo or a blogger blog to get ranked quickly for some long tail keyword phrases to drive traffic to this website.  The harder you work, the higher you will be ranked and the more benefit you will see from the traffic that the JV giveaway event receives.

Even if you are starting out and unable to send much traffic at all to these websites, more than likely you will be able to receive some traffic from them.  Many of these JV giveaway events feature a random selection from all of the JV partners that will be listed on the main page of the website.  You will also have some individuals that will browse the entire way through the event in order to look for an offer that is interesting to them.  If you make your offer compelling enough, you would be surprised with the amount of traffic that you can receive from one of these events, even if you are at the bottom of the heap. All in all, this is a great way to add subscribers to your list in a hurry, and to give your business a quick boost.

All Pay per Click Marketing Is Not Created Equal

Friday, April 11th, 2008

One mistake that most people tend to make at some point in their Internet marketing career is lumping all forms of advertising into one particular mold.  This is often done in the case of pay per click marketing.  People are aware that absolute fortunes are being made through the Google Adwords system, so they naturally think that any pay per click marketing system will work wonders for their business.  Is this the case?  Let’s take a look at a few of the pay per click marketing systems that are available online and see which ones will do the most for your business.

Of course, the king of all pay per click marketing systems is run by Google.  It is their Adwords system that drives the entire process.  Once you choose your relevant keywords and ads that go into the system, they will almost immediately be displayed alongside the search engine result pages.  Not only that, you also have the choice of whether to display them on millions of websites around the world through the Google Adsense system.  This can get your website a lot of exposure and traffic in a short period of time.  If used correctly, it can make your business an almost immediate success.

The second on the list of pay per click marketing systems is Yahoo search marketing or YSM for short.  This is also advertising that is available through a very reputable source and you can receive a decent amount of traffic by using this system as well.  YSM tends to be a little bit more difficult to understand than the AdWords system but once you get the hang of it, it is easy to add keywords or change your ads and manage your entire campaign online.  Even though they don’t send as much traffic as Google, you still get some very qualified clicks by using this program.

A newcomer on to the pay per click marketing scene is MSN.  Their system still has, in my opinion, some bugs that need to be worked out in order for it to be truly user-friendly.  It still is not a system, however, that should be overlooked if you are serious about your pay per click marketing efforts.  Although MSN receives a small share of searchers in comparison with Google and Yahoo, they do tend to be those that purchase more readily.  If you have the time to learn it, the system can send you some qualified traffic on a consistent basis.

Finally, we have all of the other pay per click marketing systems that are available. Many of the systems will not send you much traffic, if any at all and many of them are riddled with click fraud problems.  There are a few in there, however, that can send you the traffic that you need but these take a distant backseat to the big three.  If you have the time for it and the budget, they are worth doing some experimenting.

About Me

guido nussbaum

I am a 27 year old progammer from Germany. After graduation of my programmer education I decided to become self-employed. I started to get into internet marketing and created several products and membership sites and soon had a profitable business.

It was a long way until the first success showed up. I began with niche marketing, adsense and other techniques but ended up with almost nothing. This stopped after getting my first membership site up and running… from there is was a hell of a ride. With a lot of work and a huge learning curve I was able to pull out an average of 2 new projects each month (ebooks, software, membeshipsites) over the last 5 months.

So for everybody who just wants to make some quick bucks online… it won’t work unless you invest all your time and energy like you would do with an off-line business.

I wish everybody success with online business and life in general!

Listbuilding and Internet Marketing

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

It is not enough to have the best product possible and the most effective website to advertise it. The primary key to internet business success lies in your opt-in mailing list of clients. These are the names of the people willing to receive your offers and information.

It is not possible to build a successful list by merely putting a sign up invitation on your website. With the massive competition for people’s time and money you need to create an irresistible incentive for them to give you their name and address. There are several highly successful methods to tempt them.

Exclusive and informative ebooks about your market’s interests can be given away as gifts for signing up with your list. Reports about specific products or processes that teach valuable lessons to aid your customer also increase the number of people willing to sign up for your opt-in list. If your market uses such things, a helpful software program that makes their work easier is always welcome.

Another great way to gain those needed opt-in addresses is to offer membership in a special members only area where they are provided with extra services or information. By making them feel “special” they are more likely to continue allowing you to email them your offers. Providing quality information in a recurring emagazine or newsletter will keep your name familiar. Make sure to include the hint that they may want to forward the newsletter to other friends who may find it useful. Since many people keep the html turned off in their email accounts you would want to carry an online version of your newsletters.

While the popup window was originally a marketer’s dream come true, it has been so overused and abused that it has become standard practice for people to automatically run software that will prevent them from showing. If you are still relying on popups for your address capture field then you are losing sales everyday. To replace the popup, more often people are now coding their sites with “alert boxes”. This is a second field that appears over your webpage which should contain the information about the “special” offer and the address information data fields. There are many options for these boxes; some are static while others can be written to follow the viewer up and down the page as they scroll. Always make sure the alert box can be closed out so your original page can still be read.

Once you have them in your address book it is very important to keep them. As well as offering quality products or service it is a good idea to create interest channels of your clients. By keeping your list focused on the individuals interests and only sending to those who have specifically indicated their interest in a specific topic you will have fewer people unsubscribe because of too many emails off their topic or interest.

Make sure to offer your opt-in list only quality products or information. Once you have them, it will be your reputation that either keeps them and adds weight to your recommendations or bores them into hitting the unsubscribe link in your email.

2 Listbuilding Secrets Revealed

Monday, February 25th, 2008

Listbuilding is one of the hottest topics for internet marketing. Many people try it and most of them fail. That’s because they don’t know the small but effective secret techniques that the Gurus know. Yes, there are some very special tricks and techniques that most Gurus won’t tell you about. But don’t worry, after reading this article you’ll know about these dirty tricks and you’ll soon become a Guru yourself!

Building a list is the most important task for any online business owner. Your list is your marketing capital! When starting out it will all start very slow but your results will increase as time goes by. We all started with a list of zero subscribers… And many of us managed to build a list of 10.000+ in less than 6 months. Seriously, start today and work hard on building your list… Soon you’ll be one of those Top Internet Marketers with a list of 10.000 prospects and more.

Building a huge opt-in list is based on 2 factors:

- It depends on how much traffic you send to your Opt-In page

- And it depends on how many of your visitors you convert to subscribers

When looking at these 2 factors you’ll soon see that it’s not hard to master these 2 factors. Your traffic will always depend on how much work you put into your traffic generating strategies. Do you use one method of generating traffic or do you use 10 methods?

Do you get it? You need to implement as many traffic pathways as possible, so that you get visitors from all kinds of programs and websites. Your traffic can’t rely on one source… you need to use as many traffic sources as you can!

It’s not done with using as many traffic sources as possible… You still need to convert the traffic into signups for your opt-in list. We are talking about the signup rate! It makes a huge difference, imagine you have a signup rate of 5% instead of just 1%… You’ll get 5-times as many subscribers to your list!

That leads us to tracking, testing and improving your Opt-In page. Split-Testing is the magic word here. Setup 2 Opt-In pages… one with a different headline or a difference in any other part of the site. Soon you’ll know which of your 2 pages performs better than the other one. Then you take the better one and Split-test it against a new version again. Do this until you reach an opt-in rate of at least 3%.

Once you have mastered this most important part of listbuilding, you can move on and split-test your traffic sources. You’ll soon be able to dump the non-performing sources and concentrate on those that suck in the signups.

It’s not hard to do this… all it needs is hard and persistant work. Your increased results will push you to test and track even more… You’ll soon be able to determine which traffic sources to rely on and how you have to design your Squeeze Pages. That leads to not only getting more signups for your current list, but also in knowing what to do when starting your next project. You’ll know that you need to avoid certain things or that you need to implement certain strategies… Tracking will give you the knowledge to build up a multi-million dollar online business! You’ll become better with every Squeeze Page that you design and you’ll become better at knowing what you need to implement for backend profits.

Internet Marketing Hype And Lies

Monday, February 25th, 2008

“Make $10.000 a month”… “Earn $5000 monthly within 30 days”… we all see these headlines at least once a day while surfing the net. All of us were beginners at some point in our marketing career and most of us took one or more of these Super Offers. If you have been there, then you know what I am talking about… if not, then read this article and save tons of cash.

As a newbie in internet marketing you need to get that thought “I can make some fast cash online” out of your head as fast as possible. It’s the cold hard truth that making money on the internet is not easy. If you are just starting out with no or just little investment capital and small knowledge about this biz, then be aware that you will most likely fail with your first projects. That’s just life… learn from it and become better. Those that don’t give up after failing will eventually be the next big names of internet marketing.

It’s all about learning, testing, tracking and coming up with the right idea at the right time. You cannot simply pull up a website, put some ads on it and start to make a full-time income… that just won’t happen. You need to develop a real business plan first… after you spotted your high demand niche. You need to create a product line, your sales funnel and most importantly a system that automates most of your tasks.

Treat your online business like a real business. An 8 hour day is nothing for a self-employed business man, most of them work 12 and more hours every day (or they did this in the past to get where they are). Forget about the idea of becoming rich quick, it won’t happen. Concentrate on building a solid business plan and putting that plan into reality, step by step.

Testing and tracking is the most overlooked tasks by newbies. Many people make the mistake to pull up a website that sells affiliate products… they test nothing. Then if they make no sales they turn away and try a different way to make money… they’ll end up with nothing. That’s why you need to start tracking everything… you need to find out what works and what does not work.

It all starts with your Squeeze Page / Opt-In Page, the front-end of your sales funnel. You test and track different Squeeze Pages and different elements on these Squeeze Pages to get the maximum number of signups out of your visitors. Once this task is mastered you test and improve your One-Time-Offer that you place in front of your signups after they have confirmed to opt-in to you list. The conversion rates of one-time-offers can vary a lot… some marketers claim to get as much as 50% of their subscribers to buy the OTO. You can aim for a 3% or 5% when you start out, that’s good enough for the beginning.

You basically continue with testing and tracking the various elements of your sales funnel until you know that your system is as profitable as it can get. Once this is mastered you can start to send traffic to your front-end of the sales funnel and rank in the profits.

Here is a video where I explain the basics:
