Writing Content for Other Blogs Builds Traffic

Monday, June 30th, 2008

If you have been writing to your blog on a regular basis and are seeing some good results from doing so, you probably realize that adding regular content is something that can benefit you in a number of different ways. If you’re only using your own blog in order to generate traffic, however, you may be missing out on some of the greatest traffic generating techniques that are now available. The fact of the matter is, there are thousands of different blogs out there and many of them will be on the same subject as yours. How can you write content for another blog and end up getting traffic to your own website?

The first way that this is possible is my using it in order to optimize your blog for search engine listings. One thing that is important to do, especially if you are into SEO is to optimize your pages by writing about specific keywords but then to generate incoming links so that you can rise in the search engine results. One of the easiest ways for you to be able to do this is by generating other blog posts. Many people will open up a separate blog on blogger.com and post to it regularly while linking back to their own website. As long as you do this without being abusive with it, it can really help with your search engine listings.

It is also a good idea to comment on other blogs on a regular basis. Make sure that you add their blogs to your blog reader so that you know the moment that they post a new message. You can then go over and read the post and leave a meaningful comment. The reason why you would want to do this quickly is because it will put you at the top of the list which will generate a few more incoming clicks to your website from other people who read the blog post. It may also be able to help your search engine optimization to a certain extent, especially if they have the nofollow link disabled.

One other way that you can use other blogs to generate traffic for your own is by being a guest writer from time to time. Many people that own blogs don’t necessarily like to update their content because writing is not their favorite thing to do. If you have something to say that it’s on topic and can write fairly well, you would be surprised with how many people will allow you to add your own post to their blog. Of course, you would be adding a link back to your website as well which will generate a lot of traffic and additional search engine optimization for your pages.

Although it is a good idea to concentrate on your own blog, make sure that you’re spreading your wings at least a little bit when it comes to posting elsewhere. You will be surprised with how much this can help you and how many different ways it will pull traffic into your pages.

How to Build a High-Traffic Web Site (or Blog)

Generating Free Traffic Is Easy

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

I know many people are struggling to get traffic to their websites. This is only because they don’t track their traffic sources… they are fishing with a hook while they could use a net!

So the answer to all your problems with online business is: You need to know which traffic sources produce signups and sales.

Seriously, once you know how to get tons of high converting traffic, you will be able to build huge lists and promote affiliate products or your own products for making huge profits. So you have 2 parts to master:

1.) You need to send high converting traffic to your Squeeze Page / Lead Generating Page / Autoresponder Signup Page… however you want to call a simple page with a signup form.

Alright, so where can you get the high converting traffic?

Well, usually you would have to test and track hundreds of traffic sources and then determine which ones are the best. That’s like impossible if you don’t have much money for testing… it would take you years to find out.

I can give you 2 solutions for this problem. First of all you can have a look at my website where I publish the tracking stats of different free traffic programs

You should also register at the Easy Viral Traffic membership site. There you get exact step by step instructions that will show you how to generate tons of traffic for free through different strategies that I’ve personally tested. You can signup for free but consider the upgrade for a small one-time-investment… because then you get also the tools and software that you need to generate the traffic. Signup Here

2.) Now we gotta talk about building your list. Of course you should always send the traffic to your autoresponder signup page… but there are programs out there that can boost your list-size to another level. I’m talking about giveaway events. When working these as a contributor you can enter your free gift with your signup page in there. All contributors promote the giveaway, so that you get subscribers from other people’s lists.

You can easily build a list of 1000 signups in one month by participating in different giveaway events. I use at least 5 each month to further grow my lists. Having your own list means you can send traffic to any website of your choice whenever you want.

Here is a page where I list all current giveaway events

Finally let me tell you that you need to act… reading won’t get you further with your business. Work the 2 strategies above to the fullest and I promise that you soon have a huge opt-in list that you can use to produce a nice profit.

To your success!

How Can Videos Help You Build Traffic?

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

There will always be the good standbys that have been around for a very long time which help you pull traffic into your website.  From time to time, however, something new comes onto the scene that creates a firestorm of traffic if it is used effectively.  After the dot com bubble burst about eight years ago, people thought that the Internet was dead.  It really was not that at all but it was simply undergoing a change that has made it into the type of Internet that we see today.  One of the most noticeable features of the new Internet are Web 2.0 properties.  If you’re able to use these properties effectively, you would be surprised at the amount of traffic that you can generate.

One of the most popular Web 2.0 websites is youtube.com.  This is simply a website which allows individuals to post videos to share with the world.  Even a lackluster video that is really about nothing will still generate a few hits, perhaps even several hundred.  There are some videos, however, that take off like a rocket and end up getting millions of hits in a very short period of time.  If you’re able to create interesting videos that have to do with what you are offering on your website, you would be surprised with how much traffic you are able to receive.

One of the difficult parts about using youtube.com in order to generate traffic is the fact that you cannot link directly to your website.  The way that you have to get the traffic, which is very effective, is to put your URL at the beginning and the end of the video that you are creating.  People are becoming very used to typing in URLs into their browsers and if they see the URL in an interesting video, they are going to type it in to see what you have to offer.

There are several different types of viral videos that you can create and post on this website.  The first type is rather simplistic and is simply a series of images with some background music.  Believe it or not, these can be extremely popular and get hundreds of hits which will send a related traffic over to your website.  If you’re good at making videos, however, you cannot possibly imagine the amount of traffic that you will get as a result of making them.

The reason why videos are so effective is because whenever people see them and enjoy them, they will naturally pass them along.  This creates what is known as the viral effect and is one of the best ways to create traffic to your website effortlessly.  Yes, it will take a little bit of effort to create the video but that is nothing compared to the amount of traffic that you will get in return.  Even if one of your videos should happen to bomb, simply make another and post it until you get the results that you want.

Dress up Your Website for Success

Friday, June 20th, 2008

As an Internet marketer, you probably realize by now that content is what actually drives the Internet.  This content comes in the form of letters and words that are typed and added to our pages in one way or another.  Whenever a search engine comes to your website, the words are all that it sees and it is according to those words that you will get indexed.  That doesn’t mean, however, that you should simply have a blank page with words filling it up.  If you really want to make the most out of your website, you should make sure that it is dressed for success.

Some people are going to argue this with me to a certain extent, claiming that sales letters that are written on very plain webpages often do quite well.  I’m not disputing that fact at all, what I’m saying, however, is that many webpages need to be dressed up to a certain extent in order to offer more for their visitors.  If you are simply doing a sales letter online, you may want to test the possibility of using a plain white page along with using one that is dressed up with some graphics.  This is easily done by one of the split test scripts that are available out there.  If, however, you want to have your visitors come back on a regular basis to see new content that you’ve added, you can’t beat having a nice-looking website.

The hard part about this is the fact that many of us are graphically challenged when it comes to this sort of thing.  We may be able to throw some pictures together in order to dress up our site to a certain extent but when it comes to creating a logo, we fall short of the mark.  This is why you need to employ the use of a graphics artist in order to make sure that your logo is as nice as possible.  You don’t need to worry about the price because many individuals are in business online that will do this for you very reasonably.  As a matter of fact, you could probably make more money with your Internet marketing efforts in the time that it would take you to create your own graphic than you would spend on one of these.

It really doesn’t stop there.  Many of these companies will build an entire mini-site for you with all of the graphics that you need to make sure that it is very easy on the eyes.  As long as the graphics are not too large so that it hurts the load time of the page, this is an excellent way to brand yourself and to make sure that people come back on a regular basis.  Of course, they will really be coming back to hear what you have to say so you need to make sure that you are writing well consistently.  The nice-looking webpage will just help to keep their interest and let them realize that they are at the right site.

The Fine Art of Article Marketing

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

Although there are a lot of different ways that you can pull traffic into your website, article marketing is probably one of the most effective.  As a matter of fact, many webmasters spend a large portion of their day writing articles and submitting them in order to pull traffic in.  This particular method has gained in popularity as a result of the bum marketing method, a free explanation of this particular way of marketing your website.  Even though the method may be new to most people, it certainly is not new to the Internet.  As a matter of fact, article marketing has been used effectively for many years in order to pull a continual stream of traffic into these websites.

The way that article marketing is done is actually relatively easy to understand but it can be difficult to master.  It really all starts with the proper keyword research, something that many people have a difficult time doing.  The fact of the matter is, keyword research is a relatively easy thing to do and there are plenty of free tools out there which will help you in your keyword research efforts.  One of my personal favorites is the Google external keyword tool, something that will show you what people are searching for and how often they are searching for it.  It is easy to find, simply search for it on Google and it will come up in the first result.

Don’t try going after keywords that are only one or two words long.  These typically have far too much competition for you to be able to rank well for them with a simple article marketing.  What you need to do is to go after the long tail keyword phrase, a three or four word phrase (sometimes more) that is directly related to whatever you’re offering and has relatively low competition on Google.  These keyword phrases are like gold and you can spend a lot of time researching them and finding ones that will work well.  Unless you go on to the next step, however, all that work will be for nothing.

Now that you have your list of long tail keyword phrases, you need to begin writing articles on those subjects.  Some people like to include two or three of these phrases in each article but if you can write effectively, you should make each article surround one of the keyword phrases.  Although it doesn’t hurt to pepper a few other phrases into the article, don’t let your focus get away from the main phrase.  Post these articles to EzineArticles.com or another popular article directory and the article should work its way up through the search engine rankings in a couple of weeks.  You can boost this process by building some incoming links to the article itself.

As long as you chose your keywords carefully and wrote an effective bio box, people will find the articles in the search engines, click over, read it and then follow through to your website.  Try to write a few articles every day and you will be happy with how many people are visiting your website through your efforts.

Using Squidoo to Get People to Your Website

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

How much time do you spend building incoming links to your website in an effort to get people to visit?  Although this is an extremely effective way to build up your website visitors, at times it helps to step away from your website for a little bit and work in another area. Although the main focus will still be your own website, using another website can be a very effective way to build traffic and to keep it coming on a regular basis.  The real key is finding someplace to build a website that already has everything in place that you will need in order to be successful in the shortest time possible.  One of the best places that this can happen is at Squidoo.com.

Squidoo is one of the most popular Web 2.0 websites that is in existence today.  Although there are some that are more popular, such as youtube or Myspace, Squidoo offers something that these other websites do not.  Let’s take a look at how to build a Squidoo lens and what you can do to make it successful, both on its own and for whatever website you are promoting.

The first thing that you’re going to need to do is to sign up for your own little corner on the Squidoo property.  Although it will be a single page website that you are building, they are called lenses whenever they exist on Squidoo.  Building the lens is a relatively easy thing to do because their system will walk you through every step of the process.  You just need to make sure that you choose the name of your lens wisely whenever you first get started.  This is because you’re unable to change it once you build the lens and submit it.  Use a keyword rich name and you will be surprised at how well it will rank in the search engines.

You need to make sure that you build your Squidoo lens in such a way as it will appear as if it is giving something back to the Squidoo community.  Of course, if you build it in this way then it will in fact give something of benefit.  There are different parts of your lens that you’re going to need to choose and you can put a variety of different information in these parts.  Make sure that you choose several because if you choose too few, your lens may be locked in all your hard work will go down the drain.

The real beauty of building a Squidoo lens is the fact that Squidoo already has favor in the eyes of Google.  If you build a lens around a long tail keyword, it will quickly rise to the top of the search engine result pages.  It is a way of piggybacking on the success of another website and is a very effective way in getting traffic over to your main website that will continue to come in for a very long time.

Article Writing Techniques for Maximum Visitors

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Article marketing is one of the best ways to drive consistent traffic to your website.  This is a fact that is really undisputed and many people that are just starting out with Internet marketing are able to do quite well by writing articles.  Even though it is possible for anybody to come online and make money by doing this, there are some article writing techniques that will maximize your visitors.  If you are simply writing articles and leaving a link back to your website, you are missing out on some of the greatest traffic that you could possibly ever receive.

An article can really be broken down into three separate parts when it comes to article marketing.  Each of these parts must work properly in order for you to maximize the amount of visitors that you will receive.  You have the title of the article, the body of the article and you need to leave a link back to your website.  Let’s take a look at each of these parts of the article and see how they can be improved upon to get the most readers and visitors.

The title of the article is really what is going to pull people to the article in the first place.  If you are using search engine optimization in order to get your articles toward the top of the first page of Google, the title is what is going to be visible.  It is important that you use the keyword phrase that you are targeting in the title of the article but you also need to make it a little bit enticing.  Keep in mind that people will click on another link if they find your title to be boring.  Give them a reason to click on your link and they will readily do so.

The body of the article is a topic that is a bit controversial.  Some people feel that you need to give everything to your readers but if you do so, why would they ever click on your link?  Yes, it is possible for you to fulfill their every desire in the article that you have posted and still have a few click on your link.  If you leave them hanging a little bit and perhaps even promise to give them the rest of the story on your website, your click through rates will soar.

Finally, you need to make sure that you leave your link in an effective way so that people will click on it.  Most of the advice that you will get will say that you need to explain how you are an expert in some area or another.  Let me tell you a secret, nobody cares.  People are not necessarily going to click on your link because you’re an expert on the subject.  They will, however, click on the link if you use good copywriting techniques and entice them to do so.  Make sure that you know the difference between the two and you will see a lot more people visiting your web page as a result.

Linkbaits – Baiting for Links

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

Search engine optimization is something that has been around for quite some time but it is a constantly changing environment.  Whenever the Internet was still new, people would exchange links with each other in a one-to-one fashion and the search engines would gobble them up.  Not only that, it was possible for you to rank highly for some very competitive keywords just by exchanging links with other websites.  At that particular time, it really didn’t matter who you were exchanging links with or how many links you exchanged, it was more of a free-for-all than anything else.

Since those days, the way that people link has really changed.  Incoming links to your website are still a very important part of any good search engine optimization campaign.  The fact of the matter is, you really can not rank as well if you are only exchanging links with other websites.  In order to really get the most power out of your incoming links, you need to make sure that they are one way and preferably from websites that are related to yours.  Although there are a lot of different ways that people do this, one of the best ways is by putting out some link bait and allowing it to work for you.

Link bait is really nothing more than content that is interesting enough that people will want to link to it naturally.  You can put this content up on your blog or you can build static webpages that contains it, either one will work very well.  The most important part about this content is that it needs to be interesting so that people will link to it.  If it is just your normal, run-of-the-mill content, people are going to read it and ignore it.  The best way to make sure that your link bait is effective is to either make it humorous or controversial.

Once you have your link bait page up and running, you need to get some initial traffic to it in order to get the ball rolling.  If you are effective in writing this type of content, it becomes viral in nature once the links start coming in.  The best way for you to be able to do this is to post it on some of the blog posting websites such as a digg.com.  If your website gets additional digs as a result of it being on there, they can stay at the top of the list for quite some time and the flood of traffic that you will be getting is phenomenal.  You should also make sure that you’re using stumbleupon.com as this can send an additional stream of traffic to your website.

Although this type of linking is good, the real benefit will come whenever people start referring to your page on their blog or website.  This is where the real search engine optimization benefits come from and it can pull your listings up through the search engines very quickly.

Exchanging Links for Additional Traffic

Monday, June 9th, 2008

Building website traffic through the use of links is one of the oldest ways of marketing your website.  It used to be relatively easy to get these links to come in your website and people would gladly exchange links for a variety of different reasons.  First, they loved to get the direct traffic they came from links because the people were already interested in what they were talking about.  Secondly, it gave them a healthy boost to the search engine rankings and it is still possible to do so today.  The problem is, many of the search engines are now starting to ignore reciprocal links to a certain extent.  Search engine rankings that were once built on these exchanged links now seem to be going the way of the dinosaur.  Does that mean that exchanging links is dead?

Many people still exchange links on a regular basis and they do so with a lot of success.  Although the old reciprocal link directories may not work quite as well as they used to, if you’re able to exchange links in the proper way you can still get a lot of traffic to your website in a short period of time.  The real key comes in finding link partners and not simply looking for a massive amount of links.  These link partners are out there and they are willing to exchange links with you if you sweeten the pot to a certain extent.  Here is one way that you can do that.

If you have a popular website or blog that gets a lot of repeat traffic, you can display how many links you are sending to them by simply adding a link to their website on your blog.  Put in a prominent location and let it sit there for a week or two, getting people to click over to it on a regular basis.  Use a script to keep track of how many people are clicking on that link and then e-mail them that information after a week or two has expired.  If they are getting 10 or 20 clicks a day or more from you, they would be more willing to add a link to your website in return.  The hardest part about doing this is waiting for the initial period to end but getting a decent link from another website will make it all worth the effort.

Of course, you don’t need to stick with exchanging links in order to get some inbound traffic.  You can get incoming links in a variety of different ways such as article writing, leaving comments on other blogs and forum marketing.  As long as you do these things properly, you would be surprised with the amount of traffic that will come your way.  Reciprocal links still have their place and they will probably always work to a certain extent.  Make sure that you make them a part of your marketing effort and you will be happy that you’ve done so.
